Hello, kind internet stranger!

I’m Cayse, but you may know me as Pounce, GreyGirl, CleverGirl, pounceswithwolves, CM Shultz, or even Cayse M Harum-Shultz if we want to go all pen-namey.

On behalf of all of my names, I’d like to welcome you to my home base!

I like to think of this website as my digital trapper-keeper. Those who have followed me prior to my Substack days will notice that all of my old blogs have now found a new home here in the form of a “newsletter.” For the newbie’s, here’s the rundown:

cmshultz.com

This is the catch all, the main hub, the big cheese . Expect 1-2 posts a week at most and emails/newsletters once a month that will feature a broad look at each of my main trains of thought writing fiction and writing while neurodivergent.

Don't Forget the Banter

**Please excuse the mess. We are getting a glow up.** Banter, required. Sarcasm, inevitable. 1-2 posts a month.

A Novel Experiment

Post-by-post novel creation, written by an AuDHD brain, coached by ChatGPT. How to do NON-generative AI. All chats are recorded and unedited. 3-4 posts a month, plus occasional bonus episodes and behind the scenes posts.

pounceswithwolves

A shiny tangential rabbit hole of spiraling hyperfocused deep dives and existential face plants. Pounce is CMShultz unrefined. Expect 1-2 posts a month unless I’m feeling particularly feisty.

The Legacy of Dust Trilogy

Looking for updates on The Copper Canary? Subscribe to this newsletter for the latest on Avery and Echo, from Book One of the Legacy of Dust Trilogy. My NA/YA speculative alt-history/fantasy novel. Posts will be infrequent these days as I am in the “querying agents and waiting,” phase.

Polly Olly Oxen Free

A coming-of-age portal fantasy about grief, disability, and the pastel-coded trap of a cozy video game gone rogue. Remember “A Novel Experiment” from above? This is the newsletter/section of the site devoted to the story and chapters itself. No discussions of how the sausage is made allowed, but you should know it is written by me with admin support from Chat (aka non-generative).

Pick and choose as you please!

Feel free to subscribe to one or all of the newsletters above. If you sign up for cmshultz Substack auto-enrolls you in the other ones. But, if you're really only here for just one thing—i.e. the free Polly Olly Oxen Free chapters—sweet! Go for it!

Click here to find the newsletter page where you can find a link that will let you go in and change your subscription settings. I promise I won’t be offended. I am just happy you are here :) I may try to separate the sections into different publications in the future if subscribers request it.

One last note:

For those of you who have known me in the past—or for those who are just curious about the brain behind the screen—you’ll want to start here before jumping into this labyrinth of self-expression.

Please understand that the mess has always been in here [pokes at brain], regardless of whichever masked or unmasked versions of myself you met, worked with, or stumbled across online.

Once again, because I honestly and sincerely mean this from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for stopping by!

Before you go, please consider commenting below or giving that little empty heart up top a boop!

Particularly if you have enjoyed your visit to my chaotic little corner. Every action from you truly helps me out in more ways than one! 🥹❤️

Likes to read and repeat things in her own words. Much sarcasm. Very neurodivergence. Lots of masks, few spoons. 2E Mom of two 2Es. Please consider supporting me thru subscription, “Buy Me a Coffee”, & redbubble.com.
